11 Joints a Day May Increase Your Risk of a Heart Attack

Researchers studied heavy pot users and found that they had a higher concentration of a certain protein, which is associated with a higher concentration of a certain kind of fat, which is associated with hardening of the arteries, which is associated with a higher risk of a heart attack. The subjects in the study smoked between 78 and 350 joints per week, or 11-50 a day.

Things confirmed to increase your risk of heart attack:

  • Being a man
  • Being old
  • Being a post-menopausal woman
  • Being fat
  • Being stressed and angry
  • Smoking Tobacco
  • Drinking excessive alcohol
  • Using Vioxx
  • Diabetes
  • Being Black, Mexican, or Native American
  • Not exercising
  • High cholesterol
  • High blood pressure
  • (note none of these things are illegal)

Eighty years of trying to demonize marijuana and this is what they come up with? It sure is a good thing they put all those low-level weed users in jail with mandatory sentences.
