My New Favorite Book

I’m so glad a google text advertisement for this exhilarating and enlightening literary work came up next to an article I was reading on yahoo finance. It gave me a full 83 seconds of mildly intense amusement.

It also reminds me of the Jehovah’s Witnesses that I entertained at my door two weeks ago on a Saturday morning. I politely asked them about their pamphlet so I could get more “understanding.” When one quoted a bible passage I asked them who wrote it, and she became slightly confused, claiming it was divined from God. Asked if I believed/read the bible, I replied that I used the Thomas Jefferson edition, although I think that was something with which they were not familiar. They then proceeded to predict coming disasters and used current commodity and food prices as evidence. I then predicted that a terrible hurricane would strike in the next year, causing mass devastation. (I’m actually kind of sorry about that one) It seemed like they vaguely got my point, but were too indoctrinated to care. We amicably parted, and I moved the next week, so unfortunately(?) when they come back, I will be gone.
