Obama is not a Socialist

Today’s absolutely essential Democracy Now! details the similarities of Obama and McCain’s approach to the bailout, Obama’s Wall Street-friendly economic leanings, the difference between “debt nationalization” and socialism, and what will be an increasing pressure to look at actual socialist solutions as the risk of industry collapse, particularly the auto industry, increases.

A must listen!

Half the country thinks McCain would croak

Apparently, half the country believes that Senator McCain, if elected president, would not finish the term in good health.  And with that VP candidate that he has… that can’t be a good result for the campaign…

McCain Hasn’t Even Read the Bailout Plan

John McCain says that for the good of the country, they should stop campaigning and return to Washington to help address the financial turmoil.

First a few point I found as I poked around the internets:

And seriously, what the hell is McCain going to add to the proposal?  Well I hope he doesn’t add much because the economy is fundementally sound.

McCain’s POWness Makes Him… More Trustworthy?

In the mini-not-really controversy of whether or not McCain heard the interview questions ahead of time, one of his campaign spokespeople, Nicolle Wallace, said “The insinuation from the Obama campaign that John McCain, a former prisoner of war, cheated is outrageous.”

…?

I don’t know about you, but about half of the crazy people I see on the street are claiming to be veterans, who probably saw some terrible shit in Vietnam or elsewhere, and obviously have not gotten the support from their government that they deserve.  To say that McCains’s POWness makes him more likely to be trusted is pretty crazy itself.  Seriously.  How does being tortured and held captive make you less likely to lie and cheat?

Honestly, reminding me of McCain being a POW only reminds me of how old McCain is.

Paris Hilton, Called Out by McCain, Returns Smack?

It’s almost too good to be true.  In a ludicrous ad that claims that Obama is a “celebrity” and therefor cannot lead the nation, McCain likened the Illinois politician to Britney and Paris.  Even McCain’s 96 year old mom thought it was dumb.

Reportedly (I haven’t watched it), the video that features Hilton on Funny Or Die lays a serious bit o’ smack right back at McCain, albeit for the normal things, such as being really really old.

Jay-z / Nas?

Clemens / Piazza?

Barrow / Jennings Bryan?

………

Hilton / McCain ?
